We asked the children in our Kare for Kids program...
What are you thankful for?
Here's what they told us...
Reshaun, 2 yrs

"Thankful for candy and gum"
Jason, 3 yrs.

"Thankful for Snowbird, books, camera, mommy, sister and daddy."
Joshua, 2 yrs. (Twin)

"Thankful for his juice"
Caleb, 2 yrs. (Twin)

"Thankful for food and RJ's (his brother's) school."

There are certain things that we all can be thankful for each and every Thanksgiving: the company of loved ones...the grace of health and happiness...good food to share. It's a real blessing, when each of us can count on those things not to change....
But thousands of people who walk through our doors here at The Salvation Army don't have these comforts. They are hungry, hurting and often homeless by the time they reach our doorsteps. Our Army is here to console those burdens.
We serve a homecooked feast on Thanksgiving day. On other days of the year, we offer food baskets, assistance with utility bills to keep the lights on and even transitional housing programs for families and single adults. The hard fact is - daily requests for our assistance have quadrupled since last Thanksgiving. Hurting souls need your help.
