Home Sweet Home
The Project Redesign team took on The Salvation Army's Center of Hope Transitional Housing Single Women's Lounge for their first project to assist with the Home Sweet Home program. The complete lounge make-over included new furniture including sectional sofa, chairs, and table in additional to a new paint job, art, and lamps to brighten the space.

What does it take to furbish our transitional housing living units each year?
150 new bed sets (sheets, comforters, pillows)
300 new bath towels
80 bath rugs
and the list goes on...
We need your help to take on the challenge!
The Salvation Army Home Sweet Home program benefits our residents living in the Center of Hope transitional housing that serves homeless individuals and families in Nashville. With your help, we are giving these folks a place to call home.
The many family suites here at The Salvation Army are designed to provide a home for families who have lost everything and need some help getting back on their feet, transitioning out of homelessness and into permanent housing. Families can stay in this program for up to 2 years, are assigned a case manager, child care is available to them as well as various classes and Life Skills programs.
The suites are in need of upgrades after many years of use. Paint is fading, blind and curtains are losing their shape and there is always an ongoing need for blankets, pillows, sheets, towels wash clothes, bath rugs, etc. When a new resident moves in, we want to be able to provide them with things that would give them a little piece of home.
We are in need of new supplies for:
13 Family Units
8 Single Women's Units
20 Men's Quarters
1 Single Women's Lounge - Makeover Completed July 13th, 2010!
1 Family Lounge

Home Sweet Home Kicked-off at Southern Women's Show:
The Southern Women's Show partnered with The Salvation Army to help support and kickoff our Home Sweet Home program. This year, guests' attending the show were encouraged to bring donations of NEW toiletry items (shampoo/conditioner, tooth paste/brush, deodorant, and lotion) as well as bath towels, bed sheets and pillows. Attendees donated enough toiletries to create 250 care kits and cash to decorate a suite.
