Here at The Salvation Army, we truly value our volunteers and realize they are a gift from God. Our volunteers enable us to function effectively and efficiently in everything we do from feeding the homeless a hot meal to tutoring students in our after-school program, attending to disasters as they strike to manning an Angel Tree booth during Christmas.

We know that volunteers choose to donate their time and talents to us and that does not go unnoticed or unappreciated. We are here to encourage our volunteers and provide them with the tools and training they need and support them at all times.

If you're considering volunteering with us, we'd love to hear from you and get you involved! Check out our volunteer opportunities below and see what interests you! We hope to see you soon!

Soup Wagon Volunteers

Come on out and help feed the homeless on Friday nights.  We meet at The Salvation Army Area Command at 5:30 p.m.  Under the Jefferson Street Bridge in Nashville, we serve the homeless a hot meal until 7:30 p.m.  We are also looking to provide the homeless free entertainment so if you sing, play or have some kind of talent, give us a call!  We are always in need of food donations so if you like to cook or bake please call us in advance so we can plan our menus.

Breakfast Brigade Volunteers

The Salvation Army also feeds the homeless every Tuesday morning.  We meet at Area Command at 7:30 a.m. and head over to the East Nashville Cooperative Ministry to serve the homeless from our canteen until 9:00 a.m.  We also accept food donations for breakfast so please give us a call so we can plan our menus accordingly.

GED Tutors

We are looking for tutors to help assist us in our GED classes held every Tuesday and Thursday night from 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. Can't commit to both nights, no problem, just pick the one that works best in your schedule. If you would like to help make the difference in someone's life who is eager to learn, then we want you!
