"Doing The Most Good" our promise to the homeless, the helpless, the hopeless, the lonely, who come to us for assistace.
I am reminded of a time in my life, as a young boy of ten, whose father left, walking out the door on my mother, my young sister and myself. I remember the struggles, holes in the soles of my shoes, neighbors leaving food on the front porch because they new my mother was to proud to ask.
I remember the sixty plus hours mom worked for thirty hours per week. The tears she shed when there just wasn't enough money to pay the monthly bills and still buy food for three.
So when I see poverty, I see a circumstance! I see a man, a woman, a family, who in most cases find themselves homeless or facing homelessness. I see a mother who finds herself without the bread winner to depend on or a family ravaged or torn apart by addiction!
