West Palm Beach Back-to-School Health Fair

Recently, the West Palm Beach corps held their annual Health Fair. Free back- to-school physicals, health screenings, blood pressure check ups, and a visit with a chiropractor was offered. There were eighty adults and children registered to see the medical professionals.
The parents and children were examined by four medical doctors and twenty student nurses from the Inlet Grove Nursing School. Other sponsors included the Palm Beach County Health Department, the Florida Department of Children and Families, Wachovia Bank, and a Home Health Care Agency.
Several corps members volunteered their time and assisted in serving parents and children, answering questions, and clean up. Hot dogs, drinks, popcorn and snow cones were served to registered participants of the health fair by staff that manned the West Palm Beach Disaster Canteen.
