Captains Julio and Luci Da Silva
CAPTAIN JULIO DA SILVA
Captain Julio Da Silva, a native of Recife, Northeast of Brazil comes from a family of two.
He is a first generation of Salvationist and became involved in the mission of the Army in 1987. He loves the Lord and has a heart for the least, the last and the lost.
Captain Julio graduated from high school in Brazil in 1988. He loves education and through his dedication He has earned three bachelor's degrees:
His first in Risk Management and Safety Job in 1992.
The second degree in Theology with specialization in Christian Education and his third degree in Social Communication/Public Relations.
He was commissioned in 2007 as part of the Heralds of the Good News session at the Evangeline Both College, Atlanta. Captain Julio loves reading, listening to music, swimming, gardening and photography.
He speaks fluently Portuguese, Spanish, English and now is learning French. He comes to us with a great International experience. He has served the Army in the countries of Brazil, Africa, South Africa, England, and now here in the USA in our Southern Territory.
He comes to us after serving as an officer in Louisville-KY for four years. He loves the Lord, he has a passion for winning souls, a hunger for His word as well as social justice. He wants to live his life serving our Master.
CAPTAIN LUCI DA SILVA
Captain Luci Da Silva, a native of Livramento City, South of Brazil, comes from a family of three sisters and a brother.
She is a first generation Salvationist and she started going to the Army when she was 13 years old. She loves the Women, Youth and Seniors Ministries. Captain Luci graduated from high school In Brazil in 1998 and has a degree in Child Education and another Bachelor degree in Theology from the University of Londrina Parana.
She was commissioned in 2004 as part of the session Prepare of the Way at the Training College in Brazil.
Captain Luci loves dancing, jogging and shopping. She speaks fluently Portuguese, Spanish and now is learning English as her third language.
She comes to us after serving the Brazilian Territory for 8 years and having the following appointments: Vocational Service for a year at the Samambaia Corps in Brazilian DC, Director of the Female Student Residence in Santa Maria, Brazil and Corps Officer of the Santa Maria Corps for three years.
She also worked as Day Care Director for the Training College in Brazil and as Divisional Youth Secretary for the Sao Paulo Division. She married to Captain Julio in June of last year and came to the USA in July of 2010.
She loves hamburgers and French fries and her favorite word is clearance when she visits the mall. Her favorite color is pink and she loves flowers. She enjoys cooking and taking care of the kids ministry.
