Volunteer Opportunities 

Day Shelter

  •  Lead morning devotions (conducted Monday through Friday at 7:30 a.m.)
  •  Conduct mock interviews (people looking for jobs need interviewing experience)
  •  Teach reading and writing skills
  •  Teach basic household budgeting
  •  Spend time with individuals
  •  Teach resume writing

Mass Feeding

  • Prepare weekly menus
  • Prepare meals (Meals served:  breakfast 7 am, lunch 11:30 am, dinner 5:00 pm)
  • Serve meals

Next Step

  • Be a mentor
  • Lead Bible Studies
  • Teach basic household budgeting

Social Services

  • Gather information from clients on face sheets
  • Assist with basic filing
  • Make donor thank you calls
  • Transcribe client files

Youth Services

  •  After School Tutoring and Homework Helpers
  •  Older Girls -   Teach sewing classes
  •  (grades 6-12)   Teach personal hygiene
  •  Teach proper make-up skills
  •  Teach homemaker skills
  •  Other opportunities available
  •  Younger Girls - Similar to above but for girls in grades 1-5
  •  Boys in grades 1-8 - Lead programs similar to boy scouting
