Volunteer Opportunities
Day Shelter
- Lead morning devotions (conducted Monday through Friday at 7:30 a.m.)
- Conduct mock interviews (people looking for jobs need interviewing experience)
- Teach reading and writing skills
- Teach basic household budgeting
- Spend time with individuals
- Teach resume writing
Mass Feeding
- Prepare weekly menus
- Prepare meals (Meals served: breakfast 7 am, lunch 11:30 am, dinner 5:00 pm)
- Serve meals
Next Step
- Be a mentor
- Lead Bible Studies
- Teach basic household budgeting
Social Services
- Gather information from clients on face sheets
- Assist with basic filing
- Make donor thank you calls
- Transcribe client files
Youth Services
- After School Tutoring and Homework Helpers
- Older Girls - Teach sewing classes
- (grades 6-12) Teach personal hygiene
- Teach proper make-up skills
- Teach homemaker skills
- Other opportunities available
- Younger Girls - Similar to above but for girls in grades 1-5
- Boys in grades 1-8 - Lead programs similar to boy scouting
