The Special Needs Program
The Special Needs Program provides shelter for individuals with medically qualifying conditions, specifically HIV +/AIDS population, mental health and those who receive SSI and/or VA disability benefits. Participants may stay in the program one year. Residents must be able to care for themselves. This is a night shelter program, which requires each resident to leave the facility each weekday morning at 7:00 a.m. and each weekend morning at 8:00 a.m. Residents receive a bed, locker and 2 meals (breakfast and dinner), along with case management. The cost of the program is the first week is free (new resident only) and a maximum fess of $8.00 per day. The cost may be lower depending upon the income of the resident. The program requirements are statement of medical qualifying condition or VA/SSI Disability proof. The resident must also have two forms of identification. The potential resident must schedule an appointment with the program case manager to be interviewed for the program.
The Savings Program
The Savings Program provides shelter for individuals at a discounted rate. The cost of the program is $8.00 per day and the participants may stay in the program up to one year. This is a night shelter program, which requires each resident to leave the facility each weekday morning at 7:00 a.m. and each weekend morning at 8:00 a.m. Residents receive a bed, locker and 2 meals (breakfast and dinner), along with case management.
The program requirements are the resident must actively work towards repairing their credit and open a savings account. A minimum of 40% of their wages must be deposited each pay period into the savings account. All residents must agree to have their savings account activity monitored by the program case manager each month. The resident must also have two forms of identification. The potential resident must schedule an appointment with the program case manager to be interviewed for the program.
