Occasionally, emergencies arise where citizens have a hard time acquiring food, shelter, clothing, medical supplies, or even paying their utility bills. But, thanks to programs such as Project SHARE, help is available for those truly in need.
In partnership with Georgia Power, Project SHARE provides emergency assistance to our neighbors who need help with basic necessities - housing, food, medical care and utility services. The program assists the elderly, the disabled, the unemployed, the sick and others who are experiencing financial hardship.
How does Project SHARE work?
Clients in need apply for Project SHARE assistance at The Salvation Army Family Emergency Services Center in their county. In those counties where The Salvation Army does not maintain offices, Project SHARE requests are processed by approved social service agencies. Eligibility requirements for Project SHARE recipients are set by The Salvation Army.
Project SHARE is administered by The Salvation Army and is funded by electric utility customers who donate through their monthly electric bills. All contributions are forwarded to The Salvation Army. Project SHARE is literally neighbors helping neighbors.
