Hundreds of Flood Victims Assisted through Salvation Army Disaster Assistance Centers
(Atlanta, September 27, 2008) On the first day of its two-day Disaster Assistance Center operations, The Salvation Army assisted nearly 1000 individuals from 400 households in flood-affected Metro Atlanta Areas. Each applicant family was provided a cleanup kit, hygiene kit, 24-pack of bottled water, and a food box with a four-day supply of food.
The Disaster Assistance Centers will remain open today from 1-4pm. Applicants must have a photo id with proof of residence. Only one applicant per household. Locations are listed below and can be found at www.salvationarmy atlanta.org
