Salvation Army Disaster Team Readying for Second Phase of Flood Assistance
As the Salvation Army Disaster Team continues its fifth day of food and hydration services to victims of the recent Georgia floods, the nonprofit is also readying its Officers, staff and volunteers for the second phase of its Disaster Relief efforts. From 1-4pm September 26-27, Salvation Army Disaster Assistance Centers in Lawrenceville, Powder Springs, Decatur, Douglasville, and Carrollton County will provide cleanup kits, toiletry kits, food boxes, area bottled water to residents of flood-affected communities.
"The Salvation Army now has eleven Disaster Units roving through flood damaged areas throughout Metro Atlanta providing hot meals, comfort kits, bottled water and grief counseling to victims and first-responders." says Major Jim Seiler, The Salvation Army Metro Atlanta Area Commander.
"Thanks to contributions from the community and generous corporate partners, The Salvation Army Disaster Centers will provide flood victims with essential tools and comfort items they will need as they leave shelters, re-enter their homes, and begin the physically and mentally exhaustive clean-up and rebuilding process."

Flood Victim Disaster Assistance Center location time and location.
Those residing in flood-affected areas may visit the following locations Saturday and Sunday September 26th and September 27th, from 1pm-4pm.
Applicants must have a valid photo id and show proof of residence in flood affected areas to receive assistance. Only one applicant may apply per household. (Locations are also listed on www.salvationarmyatlanta.org)
