Christmas Events

Thanks to all of those responsible for helping The Salvation Army Beaumont raise over 143,000 this Christmas.  The money donated will go to help those in need in Southeast Texas over the next year.  Below is more information about what all The Salvation Army does during the Christmas season.

Red Kettle Campaign

The familiar red Salvation Army kettles stood outside area businesses from Thanksgiving to Christmas Eve. Many volunteers came to ring bells, boosting the kettle contributions.

This year, online kettles were a new idea; businesses, groups and individuals could host their own virtual kettles and invite people to 'fill' them with online donations.

Angel Tree

The Angel Tree program invites members of the community to help make a merrier Christmas for local children whose families are receiving assistance from The Salvation Army. We are grateful to everyone who adopted angels this year; many of you took two angels instead of one in response to the double number of families needing help this year. We had such a fantastic response from the community and received so many wonderful toys, clothes and gifts to give to the children. Each child 12 and younger received toys and gifts. Angel Tree is an annual program; keep it in mind for next year!

Toy Feast - KFDM Channel 6

Each year, KFDM Channel 6 organizes "Toy Feast" on the first Friday in December. Employees collect new toys for children from birth through age 12 and non-perishable food items. The toys and food are then donated to The Salvation Army's Angel Tree program to ensure all the children receive gifts and their families can enjoy a feast at Christmas.

This year's Toy Feast surpassed any previous year. We are so grateful for the overwhelming response by the community. We received enough toys and non-perishable food to fill two large moving trucks and approximately $37,000 in cash donations.

Coats and Kettles

Through a partnership with Munro's Cleaners and KFDM Channel 6, The Salvation Army distributes blankets, coats and jackets to children and adults during the winter months. Drop off new or good used blankets, coats and jackets at any Munro's locations through the end of December. Munro's will professionally clean the blankets and coats and give them to The Salvation Army to distribute. Monetary donations can be given as well by dropping a contribution in one of the red kettles inside the store.
