The Salvation Army is Honored for Service to Veterans in Central Arkansas
On April 26, the Central Arkansas VA System hosted their annual volunteer appreciation luncheon where The Salvation Army was honored as their Volunteer Service Agency of the Year.
Through our Community Cares Program The Salvation Army serves over 3,400 veterans receiving treatment at the VA hospital each year. This ministry is administered primarily through our Women's Auxiliary and provides comfort to veterans who look forward to the weekly visits from our ladies who provide coffee, snacks, and cheerful conversation while they receive treatment and are often separated from their families.
