Have you heard the call?  Would you like to answer the call? There are many different ways in that God may be calling you to service, for Him - it might be teaching Sunday School at your local corps, volunteering at a shelter or to help in disaster work, even participating in the corps weekly programs.  Many people feel their call to be a life-altering experience. They feel that their place in ministry is working 24/7 as an Officer in The Salvation Army.  You might be thinking, "Yes, I feel the call, but I have goals in life... I have a good career... I'm afraid...".  There are many opportunities in The Salvation Army to develop yourself and better your weaknesses.  Talk to your corps officer (church pastor) about overcoming your obstacles so that you may go on to serve God faithfully.

Once at a corps, you will need to get involved in the corps activities  and speak with the corps officer (pastor) about taking soldiership (membership) classes. At the end of the classes, you will have the choice of becoming a soldier. A soldier is a member of The Salvation Army - you will need to be a soldier for at least one year by the date of entrance to the college. Once you have become a soldier, you may begin to talk to the corps officer about your calling to become a Salvation Army officer.

Being a soldier is a very important part in your preparation; you will be able to discover your gifts, help many in need, and get a feeling for Salvation Army programs and the many different terminologies often used daily within The Salvation Army. You should take care to get involved in the corps as much as possible, read and study your bible daily, and brush up on skills such as reading, basic computer skills, English, etc. Take opportunity for ministry and practice being in front of the congregation.  Getting involved, studying, and practicing, will make you more prepared to enter the college and for the life of ministry that awaits you.

We are always in need of those who are bilingual or even multilingual. Our public is from very many nations around the world, and speaks various languages.  There is a need for Spanish, Korean, French, and many other languages. We highly encourage a strong ability to speak English in any situation.

Here are our Candidates for the following two sessions:

Ambassadors of Holiness 2009 - 2011
Friends of Christ 2010 - 2012
