Individuals and teams are URGENTLY needed to join the Family Store Volunteer Program to assist the Family Store staff in a variety of tasks. Especially needed are sorters and hangers and customer service specialists as well. We also need a data entry specialist working at our headquarters location. Training will be provided. Our Cherry Avenue store hours are Monday through Saturday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Please contact Lisa Chapman at (434) 295-4058 or at lisa_chapman@uss.salvationarmy.org for scheduling.

| Yes, Virginia, we do accept vehicles! |
Donated vehicles are sold at auction with proceeds going directly to support the local programs of The Salvation Army. Drive the vehicle to our Family Store; bring valid title and your keys. We will receipt the donation and send you a letter for your tax records, once the vehicle is sold at auction. For immediate assistance, call (434) 979-5230.

The thrift store provides used furniture, adult and children's clothing and shoes, appliances, records, tapes, books, videos, golf equipment, artwork, toys, kitchen utensils, lamps, televisions, knick-knacks and many other items. All of these items are available to the public at reasonable prices. Revenue from its thrift stores funds the missions and programs of the Charlottesville Salvation Army. The stores also assist people who are going through difficult times due to homelessness, domestic violence, or other trying circumstances through the provision of gifts-in-kind. A needy person or family may apply for help though the Emergency Services Office at The Salvation Army's main office to obtain vouchers for furniture and clothing at no charge.
