March

  • March 13-15 Youth Councils
    Held in Chesapeake, VA this year, Youth Councils is a teen and young adult gathering of over 500 that comes togethero for fellowship, worship, and encouragement in Christian living in today's world. Registration $45.
  • March 24 Corps Cadets
    Bible study course for youth ages 13 and up. Points are accrued for competition with the Virginia and DC division. Scholarship money for college is available for those who graduate this 3 and 5 year program. Free!
  • March 28 Palm Sunday Service
    Begins at 11:00 am

 

April

  • April 2 Good Friday Experiential Worship Service
    Walk through service at your own pace. Open from 12-7 on Friday
  • April 3 Good Friday Make Experiential orship make up day
    Walk through service at your own pace. Open from 12-2 for those who could not come on Friday.
    Community Easter Egg Hunt at 11:00am at the City Park.
  • April 4 Easter Celebration Service
    Breakfast open to all from 9:30am - 10:30am
    Easter Service begins at 10:30-12:30
    Free Easter Portraits! Bring your easter egg slips for prizes!
  • April 12 Cafe Ministries Meeting 7pm
    Discussing upcoming menus and new church participation
  • April 23-25 Women's Camp
    Women's camp at The Salvation Army Camp Hapyland in Fredericksburg, Va.
    RSVP by April 9th.  
  • April 26 Salvation Army Annual Dinner
    Tickets are $15 and available from any Advisory Board member or the main office. Silent auction including ski tickets! Door Prizes! Our honored speaker this year is the Rev.William Hartsfield.

May

  • May 10-16 National Salvation Army Week
  • May 25-26 Territorial Disaster Training Atlanta, GA
    RSVP with Captain Dahlin if you are on the disaster team by May 4th.
  • May 28-30 Men's Camp
    Men's Camp at The Salvation Army's Camp Happyland in Fredericksburg. Archery, skeet shooting, basketball, softball, horseshoes, board games & golf tournaments. RSVP 962-6206 with Captain Karl Dahlin by May 14.

June

  • July 22-26 Youth Camp Sunbeam Girls
    Covington will send fifteen area youth to Camp Happyland in Richardsville, VA for a week of fun, education, Bible Study, and socialization with hundreds of other youngsters from Salvation Army's across the Commonwealth and Washington, D.C. Camp Happyland is a 215-acre camp that offers activities such as archery, arts and crafts, boating, rope courses, hiking, music instruction, nature studies, religious education, team sports and swimming.
