| The
Red Kettle Drive supports the social service programs of The Salvation
Army throughout the year. Individuals and community groups volunteer to "ring bells" at various kettle locations in the area. Visitors are
invited to drop a donation into the kettle. |
|
| The
Silver Bells program is similar to the Angel Tree program; senior
citizens in designated nursing homes are adopted as "Silver Bells" to
residents in the community. They provide gifts and supplies to these
seniors who may not have a Christmas otherwise. In 2006, The Salvation
Army Richmond Area Command partnered with Mix 103.7 FM for the Silver
Bells program and assisted over 950 Seniors and Special Needs
Individuals! |

| Coats
for Kids, to be sponsored by local churches, collects donated new or used winter coats throughout the holiday season for under-privileged
families. |
