Just southeast of downtown, The Salvation Army Community Center is located on the corner of Avenue D and South Fifth Street. In addition to the community center and chapel on the northeast corner, The Salvation Army operates a Boys & Girls Club directly across Fifth Street on the northwest corner of the intersection.

The Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club is across the street from the community center on the northwest corner of Avenue D and Fifth Street.
As members of the Boys & Girls Club, young people participate in after-school activities, sports and recreation programs, and summer day camps.
