|The Salvation Army operates five homeless shelters in the DFW Metroplex in Dallas, Fort Worth, Denton, and Arlington.
The shelter in Arlington is a family shelter and provides a range of services to help families that have become homeless to get on their feet again.
The homeless shelters in Dallas, Fort Worth, and Denton provide emergency overnight lodging for men, women, and children.
The Salvation Army has an "elevator" philosophy in helping homeless individuals and families, as well as those who participate in other programs. When people come in on the bottom level with issues that are keeping them there, we offer support and services to help elevate them to higher levels.
Often when people have lost everything and are living on the streets, they have given up hope that things can be better for them. Consequently, they may be reluctant to try again without encouragement and support. The Salvation Army offers homeless individuals a ray of hope and helps them believe that things really can be better.
