| This program is for unaccompanied single men and women over age 18 who have a dual diagnosis of mental illness and drug/alcohol abuse. In collaboration with other Tarrant County homeless service agencies, the Simon program provides room and board, as well as a variety of services, for up to two years.
Program Requirements In order for entry into the Simon program, one must be referred by a mental health service provider such as MHMR of Tarrant County Homeless Services, John Peter Smith-Trinity Springs Pavilion, Tarrant Council on Alcoholism & Drug Abuse, Texas Rehabilitation Commission, Texas Inmate Services, MHMRTC-Project Rapp, Private Psychiatrist, or any of the homeless shelters (Union Gospel Mission, Presbyterian Night Shelter, or Salvation Army Transitional Shelter).
The Simon Transitional Housing program has the capablility of housing 40 individuals: 22 single men and 18 single women.
