You are in: SERVICES » Homeless Men, Women & Children
Reduced to sleeping in public places and under bridges, people who have known better times turn to The Salvation Army for temporary shelter. Often living arrangements with relatives have failed and they no longer have a place to live.
Many women with children arrive with eviction notices in hand and no employment. They feel they can no longer sleep in their car and wash in public restrooms.
Besides clean, dignified surroundings, homeless individuals receive meals, counseling, and assistance finding employment. Counselors may also advise the elderly and disabled on applying for V.A. or Social Security benefits.
