Education and Career Development

These programs enable youth to become proficient in basic educational disciplines, apply learning to everyday situations and embrace technology to achieve success in a career.

Key Programs:

Project Learn
Children do better in school when they have fun activities that reinforce their academic skills -- things like leisure reading, games like Scrabble, and personal writing projects. That's the focus of Project Learn. It brings Club staff, parents, and school personnel together with the aim of improving school performance ... and research shows it works.

Power Hour
Power Hour helps Club members be more successful in school by providing homework help and tutoring and encouraging members to become self-directed learners.

Junior Staff
Junior Staff are given hands-on experience with helping others in the Club and community and one-on-one guidance from Club Staff. The skills gained prepare youth for future career or volunteer leadership. They also build confidence that makes for successful college and job interviews.

Technology Center
Our 30-seat Technology Center gives young people convenient access to resources for homework, college and career research, and on-line applications for colleges and financial aid.
