The Officer’s Covenant:
Called by God
to proclaim the Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ
As an Officer of The Salvation Army
I bind myself to Him in this solemn covenant
to love and serve Him supremely all my days,
to live to win souls and make their salvation the first purpose of my life,
to maintain the doctrines and principles of The Salvation Army,
and, by God’s grace
to prove myself a worthy officer.

Want to Become a Salvation Army Officer?
Salvation Army Officership begins at the Corps level with a life dedicated to Jesus Christ. The first step is to join the ranks and become a soldier in The Salvation Army. This happens after completing a training class and signing "A Soldier's Covenant" our Articles of War.
After time, prayer and work at the local level the Corps Officer can recommend you for the College for Officer Training. Candidates from our area attend in Atlanta Georgia. After completion of an intensive two year program; commissioning and assignment to your first appointment are in the next order.

Becoming an Officer in The Salvation Army can be one of the most rewarding and challenging ministries available today. For more information please contact Captain Vic Tidman.
Here at the Fairfax Corps we are currently excited about our Cadets who are finishing their first year of training at College for Officer Training in Atlanta. Jin Ho and Mee Ok Baek will be returning to the college as second year cadets this fall after they finish a summer internship at a corps here in the National Capital / Virginia Division. Before training they did intensive work here at the Fairfax Corps
. The photo and sermons are from their anointing ceremony here in Fairfax when they received their candidates pins which they wore until they arrived at the College for Officer Training in Atlanta, Georgia. After they finish their training they will be appointed to the field as Salvation Army Officers.
