Community Corrections Center

The goal is to help change lifestyles so participants can become productive members of the community.

Residents are referred from the Bureau of Prisons for the last 10% of their prison term. Those referred from the federal court system have been convicted of charges the court does not feel are serious enough to warrant a prison term. Program residents work with a case manager to determine their goals and establish personalized plans.

The program offers:

  • Bi-weekly meetings with case managers to monitor progress
  • Assistance in making a positive transition back to the community
  • Opportunity to work outside the centers and earn free time to gradually reunite with family
  • Participant monitoring to ensure positive activities take place during transition
  • Life skills courses such as money management, parenting classes, anger management and cognitive skills training

Non-Secure Drug Treatment Programs

Intervention assists in breaking the pattern of use and gradually moving participants back into society.

Staffed by certified addictions professionals, the program is licensed by the Department of Children and Family Services as a residential treatment provider.

The program offers:

  • Intensive treatment phase in the first two months requiring participants to stay at the facility
  • Opportunity to work in the community during the next four months
  • Aftercare treatment following the six-month program

Probation and Restitution Centers

Programs modify attitudes and behaviors improving the lives of offenders and their families.

This five-month program is an alternative to incarceration for adult felony offenders having difficulty paying court fees and restitution, and who need assistance with employment and housing. Participants work with case managers to establish goals and create individualized plans to meet court requirements.

The program offers:

  • Weekly meetings with case managers to monitor progress
  • Counseling, moral support and supervision contributing to offenders becoming valuable assets to society and reducing recidivism
  • Structured environment stressing employment and restitution
  • Life-skill courses and cognitive skills training
  • Substance abuse evaluation and treatment

Faith-Based Transitional Housing Program

Provides a positive impact on recidivism and improves life skills while meeting spiritual and emotional needs.

Designed to assist post-release offenders, the program differs from other residential programs in that residents have met their legal obligations to the Department of Corrections.

They are no longer legally required to stay in a facility, but can come and go within the structure of house rules. The Salvation Army Correctional Services provides a faith-based curriculum, including Bible study and Bible-based value clarification.

The program offers:

  • Referrals for substance abuse and drug and alcohol counseling
  • Life skill and cognitive skills training
  • Spiritual counseling
  • Literacy testing and GED courses
  • Employment assistance, personal money management and life management training
  • In-house AA and NA
