How does the client make their first appointment?

Defendant is given a deadline to report to probation office following either Court appearance or release from jail.

 

If the client is sent directly from court, what is the procedure once he/she gets to the probation office?

Court intake officer completes intake if time allows. If there is not sufficient time, an appointment is scheduled by receptionist. Defendants who phone are given an appointment date and time.

 

How does the client set their next appointment?

Counselor and client discuss and agree upon next appointment date and time. If payment is made, this prints on the receipt. If no payment is made, clients are given a printed appointment memo with the date and time. Both the receipt and appointment memo are signed by the client.

 

How does the client cancel an appointment?

Clients must speak directly to the counselor to reschedule appointments. (863) 382-1285.

 

What should the client bring to the first appointment?

Photo ID. Cost of supervision fee and insurance fee, if community service is ordered by the Court. Any payment on court fines and fees may be made. If you are a juvenile and have been directed to The Salvation Army, you or your guardian should call the following number for more information: (863) 382-1285.

 

What forms will need to be completed at the first appointment?

Supervision Plan.

 

What services and classes are offered?

What is the process for community service work, insurance, etc.?

Insurance fee of $7.00 for each set of 50 hours. After payment of fee(s), client is provided with a list of approved non-profit agencies. A record's form is given for registration of the hours along with a verification form to be signed by an official of the supervising agency. Insurance cards are provided. Completed verification is to be returned by due date assigned by the Court.

 

What about referrals?

On occasion, in order to address a specific need, The Salvation Army will refer you to another community agency. Your counselor can provide you with a list of local providers.

Be provided confidentiality with regard to HIPAA compliance
Be provided clear information regarding the conditions of your probation

Meet all conditions of probation as assigned by the court
Keep all appointments
Be honest and open with your counselor
Pay your fees/fines according to the conditions of your probation
Show respect and concern for other clients of The Salvation Army and to respect their privacy

*Partial Payment Program
This is a Court ordered payment plan for defendants unable to pay court fines in full. Defendants are allowed to make monthly payments.
