People living at Salvation Army shelters include families with children, pregnant mothers and single men and women. They may stay in the program for up to two years while working to overcome the problems that caused them to become homeless. Homelessness is caused by many things including domestic violence, physical and/or mental illness, substance abuse and the very high cost of housing in South Florida.
While staying with us, they receive food, shelter and clothing. If you would like to provide the little extras that make life bright, here are some suggestions.
