Make Life a Little Brighter

People living at Salvation Army shelters include families with children, pregnant mothers and single men and women. They may stay in the program for up to two years while working to overcome the problems that caused them to become homeless. Homelessness is caused by many things including domestic violence, physical and/or mental illness, substance abuse and the very high cost of housing in South Florida.

While staying with us, they receive food, shelter and clothing. If you would like to provide the little extras that make life bright, here are some suggestions.

Some Other Ways to Help:

Gift cards for $10 - $25 to Publix, Winn Dixie, WalMart or Target. These are used to reward the "Client of the Month"

A baby shower in a basket - suggestions include a baby blanket, diapers and wipes, socks, lotion and a rattle

House Warming Baskets for clients who are moving into an apartment or home
Suggestions include kitchen towels, cleaning supplies and gift cards
