The Salvation Army Family Store (formerly known as the Thrift Store), located at 307 West Lee Street, is open Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. We accept donations of good quality clothing, and household merchandise until 4:30 on the days we are open or by calling 336-273-5572 for a pickup.
The Salvation Army Family Store is a familiar sight in most communities, allowing people with limited means to purchase goods at a reasonable cost while maintaining the dignity of doing their own shopping. We also make it possible for people who have no funds to obtain a voucher which allows them to shop at the Thrift Store and receive items at no cost.
The Family Store has a myriad of merchandise including used furniture, adult and children's clothing and shoes, appliances, records, tapes, books, videos, artwork, toys, kitchen utensils, lamps, televisions, knickknacks and many other items. All of these items are available to the public at reasonable prices.
The end result, no matter whether you donate to or purchase from, is that all money raised helps The Salvation Army continue to offer programs that benefit the entire community, including Boys and Girls Clubs, providing Emergency Food and Financial Assistance, Disaster Relief and The Center of Hope Housing Programs.
You benefit when you donate your reusable items to The Salvation Army Family Store:
- Donated items are tax deductible
- You de-clutter your home of things you don't need but others might
- You help support your community
- Your trash may be another's treasure
- Landfills don't fill up as quickly
