Emergency lodging and meals for transients, homeless families, and dislocated individuals are provided for at The Center of Hope.
The Center of Hope shelters individuals and families who are in need of a safe place to sleep. Our center is dedicated to helping men, women and families overcome the situations and conditions that have brought them to our shelter.
Individualized case plans guide clients to benefits and services for which they may be eligible. Our program takes residents from dependency to independency through work, education, training and skills development.
Staff is available to guide, advocate and make referrals to private and public resources. Individuals have access to mail, telephone, classified ads, and showers. These are all key in gaining employment, which leads to self sufficiency.
The opportunity is provided to all residents to take part in worship and other activities at one of our Salvation Army corps or at a community church of their choice.
The Salvation Army also provides numerous in-house resources available including but not limited to prescription assistance, transportation assistance, Adult Rehab Programs (at other locations), Boys & Girls Club program as well as support groups for those with addictions. The Salvation Army also has a food pantry and a family thrift store. Vouchers for clothing as well as household items, furniture and other items needed for setting up housekeeping are frequently given.
The goal for the Center of Hope is to provide temporary housing and then help establish, if possible the individual or family in a more permemant housing situation.
