How can I make a donation to The Salvation Army to benefit people in Hernando County?

Will my donations be used in other Salvation Army units or centers?

Unless you designate your donation for somewhere else, around $0.82* of every dollar of your donation will be used directly for people in need in Hernando County, and the rest ($0.18) will be used in Administrative expenses of The Salvation Army Hernando County Corps.

*Average for The Salvation Army at National level. It could vary from unit to unit.

How do I make donations to help survivors in Emergency Disasters?

1.  Check our National, Territorial, or Divisional Websites to find the most up to date information about it; or

2.  Mail checks and money orders to:

You must be sure to write in the MEMO field the reason of your donation.*

*Examples: "Ohio Tornado Relief" or "South Florida Hurricane relief," etc.

Will I be given a receipt?

Yes. However, it is your responsibility to have a list of the items. We will give you a receipt for the items. Due to Federal Regulations (refer to IRS Publications), The Salvation Army does not give a monetary value to the items received.
