
William, at 84, looked frail and tired. His clothes were tattered and worn. He wore a boot on one foot and a dirty canvas sneaker on the other.
William began to share that he relies solely on social security for income. And then, with tears in his eyes, he confessed that he hadn't eaten for days.
Our staff took William to the food pantry to stock up on groceries. Next they escorted him to The Salvation Army thrift store to help him pick out some new clothes — and a new pair of shoes.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you!" William said, a sweet expression of gratitude in his eyes.
