Elbert, CO - In response to the Elbert
County Fire in Elbert, CO on June 24, 2012, The Salvation Army is assessing the
needs of disaster survivors and responding to immediate needs. While the fire
is approximately 90% contained, The Salvation Army is committed to assisting
those impacted.
At the Elbert County Fairgrounds evacuee center, The Salvation Army’s local Emergency Disaster Services (EDS) unit is providing for survivors’ immediate needs, such as food, water, and comfort. Additional relief efforts will be implemented as needed.
The Salvation Army is
still actively serving the evacuees at both the High Park and Waldo Canyon
Fires.
An appeal is being made for financial assistance to fund the relief
work in Elbert County.
