One of the main objectives of The Salvation Army Angel Tree Program is to provide shoppers with the opportunity to personally select gifts of clothing and toys for a specific child who is in need.
The first real names and ages of children, who qualify and have been registered with The Salvation Army, are placed on cardboard angels along with their needs of toys, clothes, and shoes with the appropriate sizes. You can select the age and gender of the 'Angel' you wish to shop for at one of the Angel Tree booths.
Angel Tree booths will be open daily between Friday, November 27 and Sunday, December 13 in the following malls:
- Jefferson Mall - in the JCPenney wing
- Mall St. Matthews - in the Limited Wing
- Oxmoor Center - in the Sears Wing
Once you have bought gifts for your 'Angel' return them, unwrapped in the bag provided, to the same booth no later than Sunday, December 13. All gifts are then sent to our Christmas Center where they are sorted and distibuted to families before Christmas.
Adopting an 'Angel' really is a wonderful way for us to share the blessings that we have with those less fortunate. The Salvation Army is always amazed and humbled at the generosity of the people of Louisville. During these tough economic times we know that this generosity is going to be even more vital as the number of families who are turning to The Salvation Army for help continues to grow daily. We ask that you share the joy of the Christmas season with those families in need by becoming part of the Angel Tree Program.
The Salvation Army also has a Corporate Angel Tree Program that allows groups from businesses, churches, sports clubs, and organizations etc. to take care of the needs of multiple children.
