For 125 years, The Salvation Army of Louisville has been motivated by the love of God. Our ministry is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs without discrimination. Through our Boys & Girls Clubs, Center of Hope, and Corps Worship Centers, over 98,000 Louisville citizens have been blessed by caring staff and countless volunteers from the community.
The Ray & Joan Kroc Corp Community Center will provide even more HOPE and opportunity for "Miracles to Happen" in our community. The matching gift was left to The Salvation Army by the Kroc family to build state of the art centers to serve families and meet human needs.
Louisville was chosen to receive, by matching community support funds, the Ray and Joan Kroc Corp Community Center. This center will open in 2009 in the Cane Run Road area and will meet the mission and vision of Ray & Joan Kroc and The Salvation Army as we continue to serve in the name of God.
Eleven centers are currently planned across the country. The first center opened in 2002 in San Diego, California. Mrs. Kroc envisioned a center that would serve the entire community and was blessed by the results. At her passing to glory, Ray & Joan Kroc trusted to The Salvation Army a sizeable gift. Their vision is the model for future centers as THE BEACON on THE HILL for all to enjoy and grow as one united family.
The Kroc Center in Louisville is currently on delay.
