Disaster Alert Response Team (DART)
The Salvation Army's DART Team, consisting of over 40 community volunteers from the Lubbock area, is always ready to lend a hand when disaster strikes. This team of volunteers helps victims of disasters in the Lubbock area by providing food, fluids and counseling. The DART Team also remains on standby for assignments for local, statewide or national disasters.
Other Services
Between disasters, the DART team serves the Lubbock community by providing water to homeless individuals during hot summer months and assisting with The Salvation Army's Surviving the Night program, which provides food, drinks, socks, gloves and blankets to homeless individuals.
Volunteer Opportunities
Individuals are invited to volunteer with the DART team to aid in local disaster response and other services offered in the Lubbock area.
Opportunities exist for deployment for disaster service during mass disasters. Deployment is usually a 10-14 day trip under rough conditions and is only available to those in good physical condition.
