VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES AVAILABLE:
RED KETTLE BELL RINGER: The Salvation Army's Red Kettle Campaign begins November 15th and runs through December 24th. Volunteers are needed to ring bells at the kettle locations. Individuals, civic and church groups, and families are welcome. If interested, please call Major Ted Morris at (251) 438-1625.
THE ANGEL TREE DESK: Workers are needed from 10 am - 9 pm, Nov. 15 through Dec. 14. Workers are especially needed for 4 - 7 pm and 7 - 9 pm shifts and on Sundays from 10 am to 1 pm. Workers sign out adopted Angels and receive the gifts purchased for them.
SET UP FOR ANGEL TREE DISTRIBUTION: begins December 1. A small number of workers are needed to check in gifts at the distribution site, fill gift requests for those whose gifts were not returned, and to place the gifts in their designated area. This job requires a good deal of walking, bending and some lifting.
takes place December 16 and 18 from 8:15am - 3:30pm on Tuesday with a shorter day expected on Thursday. The majority of the volunteers will be gift runners, and gift delivery personnel, a few people work check-out. There are two shifts available, 8:15 to 11:30 and 11:15 to 3:00.
