 Need knows no season and The Salvation Army is more than a holiday charity. Those red kettles help us provide help and hope to individuals year round. See how we're doing the most good in your own back yard.
The following assistance is available to Hidalgo County residents who qualify. Certain reuirements may be necessary in order to apply.

 Clothing
Clothing is available to children and adults in need. Voucher slips are issued and redeemed at The Salvation Army Thrift Store. Tim's Coats are provided to anyone in need of a winter coat.

Food Pantry
A food pantry is available to persons an a case by case basis only. Non-McAllen residents are referred to a food pantry i their city for non-emergencies. An after hours food pantry is also availabvle for emergency cases only.

 Soup Kitchen:
A soup kitchen is available to Hidalgo County Residents for lunch and dinner. Breakfast is available only to persons staying in our emergency shelter.

Furniture
*Furniture donations are provided on an emergency basis and upon availability.
- Victims of a burnt home must provide a fire report and verification of new address (Ex. rent contract, bill, etc.)
- Others must provide a referral letter from a Social Worker, Case Worker, Case Manager, Nurse, or other Professional informing a home visit was made and list specific items needed

Rent and mortgage paymebnt assistance is available to those who are being evicted or who are having their homes foreclosed.
