The holiday season is a time of joy and laughter for families, but unfortunately, for some, the season brings the harsh reality of a bleak Christmas. The Salvation Army is a source of hope for people in need- providing meals toys, clothing and spiritual assistance. Each Christmas, The Salvation Army spreads the message of Christ through its Christmas Angel Tree and Food Assistance programs, which benefit needy Mississippi families in George, Harrison, Hancock, Jackson, Pearl River, and Stone counties.
The Christmas season is also the time of The Salvation Army's largest fund-raising efforts. The Salvation Army Christmas Kettle Campaign kicks off in mid-November. Bell ringers encourage holiday shoppers to drop spare change into The Salvation Army's trademark red bucket.
If you like the idea of fundraising on line and reaching your goal electronically, the Online red kettle is for you. This option allows you to set up your own electronic personal or business account. You'll ask your group or friends and family to make an electronic contribution by email and they will also be able to invite their friends and family to support your campaign. This is a fun and exciting way to get departments to compete or to invite others outside of your organization to Do The Most Good with you. To set up your electronic kettle, click here.
