YOUTH EXPLOSION 2
Miami, Fl - On Friday, May 29th, 2009 at The Salvation Army Miami Sunset Corps, The Edge Youth Group once again had the privilege to host its now annual "Youth Explosion" Fundraising Concert to raise funds specifically for our partner territory (Caribbean Territory) for the Army's World Services Ministry. This year, there was a burning desire in the hearts of the Edge Youth Group to minister to the needs of our brothers and sisters in the fifteen Caribbean islands that comprise that territory.
Marlina Diaz and Carolina Collado yet again this year, were the impetus for the success of Youth Explosion 2 under the supervision of Captains Bruce & Tavia Williams (Corps Officers)
Local groups such as Sherwin, Remy & Daniel, Incredible Praise Dance Team, OBG Dance Team (The Salvation Army Miami Hialeah Corps), Miami Seventh Day Baptist Trio, The Salvation Army Miami ARC Band, The Salvation Army Miami Edison Corps Praise Team, Marlina, Tasha & Josh and the Edge Youth Group Drama Team all wowed and hailed the name of Jesus Christ on high as a crowd of 130+ worshippers joined in. In attendance this year were members of the Miami ARC with Lieutenants Ward, The Salvation Army Fort Lauderdale Corps youth with Captain Nichole Lynn, The Salvation Army Hialeah Corps youth with YPSM Stephen Gonzalez and The Salvation Army Miami Edison Corps youth with Captain Celimene Lalanne and YPSM Mozart Charles.
The theme of this year's Youth Explosion was found in Matthew 28:19-20 and all in attendance were reminded of the need for us to be about doing the Lord's will in that of the Great Commission. We ought not to focus our lives on our own matters but on reaching out to others for the expansion of God's kingdom here on earth. What's in it for us? The World for God!
Special thanks go to the crew responsible for putting the whole event together. Charles; Helpers were: Julian Pinheiro, Dalia Figueredo, Joel Diaz, Juan Diaz, Marcel Diaz, Natalie Diaz, Alanis Vigiano, Leticia Mora, Tasha Wahlenberg, Joshwa Martinez, Andrew Pereda, Sherwin Jose, Remy Dou, Daniel Medina, Elias Medina, Ashley & friends, Mozart Charles, Elton Smith, Rebecca Hildalgo, The ARC band members, Incredible Praise, OBG and Captains Bruce & Tavia Williams.
Because of the gracious help and collaboration of these humble servants, The Edge Youth Group was able to raise $1,300.00+ for The Salvation Army in the Caribbean Territory. To God be the glory for great things He has done through the Edge Youth Group of The Salvation Army Miami Sunset Corps. Thus far, we have raised a total of $2,300.00+ for The Salvation Army's World Services Ministry in the span of two years, Hallelujah! We'll continue to praise Him as we foresee, by the grace of God, Youth Explosion 3 in 2010.
