Nashville TN- Caney Fork Restaurant is giving back to those who give. Located at the front gates of Gaylord Opryland, Caney Fork Restaurant will be accepting donated items on behalf of the Salvation Army to help the thousands of families displaced by the flood.
The flood waters came to within 50 ft of doors of Caney Fork Restaurant before receding. "When you look around and see the magnitude of the destruction from the flood waters, we consider ourselves very blessed," stated Marc Barhonovich, President of Caney Fork Restaurant. "Since so many people are familiar with our location directly across the street from the front gates of Gaylord Opryland we thought we could be of benefit in helping the Salvation Army collect donations for the flood victims."
To make it even more rewarding to donors, Caney Fork will be giving every person who donates a free appetizer coupon to come in or come back later and enjoy the restaurants delicious southern fare. "We know people do not need an incentive to give but it is our way of saying thank you to all the people of Nashville and surrounding areas who have given so much and continue to help others," says Marc Barhonovich.
We will be accepting donations for the Salvation Army and the Nashville Flood victims on Saturday May 15th and Sunday May 16th from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM each day.
The Salvation Army in Nashville is accepting cases of bottled water, NEW socks, underwear, t-shirts, hygiene kits for men or women, and supplies for clean-up kits which include: mop, broom, work gloves, mask, sponge, squeegee, scrub brush, rubber gloves, bleach, all-purpose cleaner, trash bags and paper towels. This is only for in kind donations in the Nashville area (see below). Please DO NOT drop off used clothing items at this time.
Major Rob Vincent, Nashville Area Commander for The Salvation Army, said, "We are very privileged to have such great support from the Caney Fork Restaurant. With our partnership, The Salvation Army will be able to provide these much needed items to people severely affected by the flood."
