The 136-bed Harbor Light Center provides a comprehensive, six-month residential treatment program for men and women struggling with drug and alcohol addiction.

Clients are primarily homeless, with limited or no access to other treatment programs. Educational assistance along with classes such as relapse prevention and anger management prepare graduates for independence and meaningful employment.

Our Goals:

- The Salvation Army holds that no one is beyond hope. Each person has infinite value.
- The Harbor Light Center seeks to bring hope to those who have fallen captive to substance abuse.
- The center is a residential treatment facility that provides a full range of treatment services for men and women. Treatment includes group and individual counseling, education, and job placement assistance. The development of life skills such as anger and money management is an important part of the program.
- The typical treatment plan is six months, with 55 to 60 percent of clients completing the program. For those involved in the optional religious component, the chance of completion increases to 90 percent.

Accreditation

The program is certified by:

CARF Accredited
DC Government/APRA Certified in Levels I, II and III Substance Abuse Treatment Services
