FINANCIAL CONTRIBUTIONS

This is one of The Salvation Army’s areas of greatest need with the greatest amount of flexibility. There are many different ways you can give The Salvation Army a financial contribution. Whether you want to give a cash gift or an appreciated asset, The Salvation Army can meet your wishes.

APPRECIATED ASSETS

The Salvation Army accepts gifts of appreciated assets such as:

STOCK or MUTUAL FUNDS

Gifts of appreciated assets - like stock or mutual funds - are simple, effective and a tax-wise way to support the work of The Salvation Army!  The process is simple and confidential. It proves to be a great gift for the Army as well as an excellent way to avoid capital gains taxes for the donor. (PLEASE CONTACT YOUR LOCAL RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR PRIOR TO MAKING A STOCK CONTRIBUTION—IMPORTANT INFORMATION REQUIRED)

Simple - your gift may be made by either certificate or electronic transfer.

Effective - your gift will provide immediate support for the work of The Salvation Army.

Tax-Wise - by giving stock or mutual funds, you may take full advantage of any charitable contribution deduction (when you itemize) and avoid capital gains tax.

REAL ESTATE (The Salvation Army does not accept timeshares)

Gifts of long-term property, commercial real estate, residences, farms, and unimproved real estate are all great ways to support the Army.
