EMERGENCY DISASTER SERVICES BULLETIN
During the disappearance of little Shannon in Chipley, Florida The Salvation Army's Emergency Disaster Feeding Unit was called into action to feed Search & Rescue teams during the search.
460 Meals, 680 Drinks, 300 Snacks were served with 65 hours given in service.
We are most grateful for the positive outcome of the search.
NOTE: Generally during localized events such as these monetary donations are not solicited for this purpose. Donations to help offset the cost, however, are very much welcomed and appreciated. Thank you
TROPICAL STORM IDA
The Salvation Army stood ready to give aid and service in the event that Ida would impact resident in the Panhandle. All Salvation Army units were put on alert in Florida in preparation for what Ida might bring.
As it turns out services were not needed due to the weakening of the storm.

THANK YOU! To all those who gave during the "United We Can" Food Drive. The Salvation Army received six pallets of non-perishable food to use in our Food Pantry.
Our sincere thanks to Jerry Tabatt of WMBB News 13 for coordinating the effort and Sgt. Jeff Becker of the Panama City Police Department for coordinating with Bay County Law Enforcement Agencies for collection and distribution of donated food.
The need continues. We are assisting no less than 15 families per day with food, providing several days' worth of food that would supply three meals per day.

The Salvation Army is at work in these counties seeking to make a difference in thousands of lives. We pledge to do the most good with every resource given to us.
- Providing bags filled with groceries to feed hungry families.
- Paying a utility or house/rent payment to keep a family from being out on the street.
- Providing affordable apartments for families seeking to get back on their feet.
- Working with people that are required by the courts to make restitution for a poor choice they've made.
- Providing a safe haven for victims of domestic violence.
These are just some of the ways we are meeting needs in our area. We also give opportunity to the community to purchase affordable used clothing, furniture, appliances, houseware, electronics, toys, and much more. The proceeds of these sales are used to fund the programs and services previously mentioned.
