September 19, 2013, Port Charlotte: The Salvation Army Port Charlotte Corps Advisory Board on his regular monthly meeting, addressed the details for our 2013 Christmas Campaig. Days and Hours for Christmas Applications and Distribution days had been setup. The first Power Breakfast, where all the Kettle Coordinators will handle the details of the Kettle Drive, was planned for October 4, 2013. A very busy but rewarding season is ahead! August 12, 2013, Port Charlotte: More than 600 children from families of low income on Charlotte and DeSoto Counties received Backpacks with School supplies. Parents who brought their children to the Back to School Party and Distribution on Port Charlotte stated their appreciation for the supplies received. For many of them, living from payday to payday, spend on those supplies is a decision that affect their domestic economy. The Staff of Port Charlotte Corps and so many volunteers are satisfaced with the success and already started to plan next year Back To School Program.
July 15, 2013, Port Charlotte: On Sunday August 4 at 1:30 pm on the Service and Worship Center at 2120 Loveland Blvd, The Salvation Army will be having the BACK TO SCHOOL Distribution. Around 400 kids from families of low income, who already applied for it, will be receiving a backpack with school supplies. We appreciate those donors who had been generous with The Salvation Army, allowing us to serve less fortunated families in our community.
June 19, 2013, Port Charlotte: Captain Josue and Gilda Prieto arrive today to Port Charlotte to take up the position of Corps Officers of Port Charlotte Corps. They had been working with the Salvation Army as Officers for almost 8 years: 2 on Panama, Central America and the rest on 2 appointments in Florida. Captains Prieto are ready to continue the work on Charlotte & DeSoto Counties with the same enthusiasm than they had in their previous appointments.
