WHO: Families with Children Ages 0-14 AND Seniors Ages 62+

HOW: Call (804) 389-3189 to schedule and appointment or visit SalvationArmyRVA.Appointy.com

WHEN: Calls are taken Mon-Fri from 9AM to Noon and 1PM to 4PM.  Emails are taken anytime.

Applications for The Salvation Army Christmas Assistance program (which includes Angel Tree, Christmas Mother, Silver Bells, and Adopt a Family) will be scheduled by phone call beginnning Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at 9AM. Families interested in applying for Christmas Assistance MUST call the Christmas Assistance hotline at (804) 389-3189 or visit SalvationArmyRVA.Appointy.com to schedule an appointment to apply.

Families receiving appointments will be scheduled to complete an application during the weeks of October 14, October 21, and October 28. Appointments will be assigned during the call to (804) 389-3189 and are based on availability and capacity.

Families applying for Christmas Assistance in the city of Richmond will visit 1407 Cummings Drive, Richmond, VA 23230 during their appointment time* to complete their application. Families applying for Christmas Assistance in the Tri-Cities will visit 1228 South West Street, Petersburg, VA 23804 to complete their application.

*Applications will NOT be taken at the respective loctions without an appointment which was assigned during the call or appointment set online. Families arriving at the respective loctions without an appoitment will be asked to call and make an appointment.

ITEMS TO BRING TO YOUR APPOINTMENT Families MUST bring the following records with them to their appointment:

  1. Most recent Notice of Eligibility from Department of Social Services
  2. Photo identification
  3. Birth certificates (to verify ages) for children applying for (ages 0-14)
  4. Applicant should be prepared with all eligible children’s clothing sizes.

If NO Notice of Eligibility from Department of Social Services

  1. Photo identification
  2. Birth certificates (to verify ages) for children applying for (ages 0-14)
  3. Notice of guardianship
  4. Proof of all household income to include; employment income, unemployment income, food stamps, TANF, child support, disability, retirement, vet benefits, etc.
  5. Applicant should be prepared with all eligible children’s clothing sizes.
