Twenty-eight Central Virginia Students Awarded Back-to-School Shopping Spree from Target and The Salvation Army
On Tuesday, August 21st, 28 Central Virginia students in need visited a Target store accompanied by Salvation Army officers, staff and volunteers to purchase much needed backpacks, calculators, pens and pencils, art supplies, binders, clothing and other supplies for back-to-school.
Each child was selected by The Salvation Army Central Virginia; 17 from the Tri-Cities and 11 from The Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club and Emergency Shelter in Richmond. They were given an $80 Target GiftCard to purchase supplies and clothing.
The students were split into two groups; the Richmond group shopped at the Target located at The Shops at White Oak Village, and the Tri-Cities group shopped at the Target located near Southpark Mall.
