Radio Disney Visits The Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club
In August, youth enrolled in The Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club Summer Cool Camp program participated in an Incredible Kids/Healthy Kids Game Show, hosted by Radio Disney and sponsored by Virginia Cooperative Extension.
Incredible Kids/Healthy Kids used facts and fun activities focused on nutrition and fitness education as well as the "My Pyramid" guide to show how eating right and living healthy is a smart choice.
The 75 Club members involved cheered one another on and their teams as they learned in fun and creative ways about the various food groups and about the benefits of healthy living and healthy eating habits.
In addition to spending time learning, the Club members were also treated to line dancing and limbo.
"We were thrilled to have Radio Disney visit us at The Club and share with our youth the importance of living a healthy lifestyle in a fun and creative way," said Hugh Jones, Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club Executive Director.
"This visit will reinforce the lessons we teach our members on a daily basis here at The Club."
