tamaraTamara didn't have a job to go to this morning to support the two daughters she is raising alone. She did have an appointment at the hospital to get a CAT-Scan because her cancer symptoms have returned.

Sixteen months ago, ten days after the birth of her second daughter, Tamara was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. In the blurry, sleepless days of early motherhood, Tamara knew something was terribly wrong. Her weakness and exhaustion were so overwhelming that she returned to the hospital.

During her 10 months of chemo-therapy, unable to work, Tamara and her two little girls moved in with her parents. A trained medical billing specialist, Tamara began to search for any kind of job that would accept her with a necessary treatment schedule. She has been frequently rejected.

The Christmas Assistance Programs offered by The Salvation Army offered the hope of a joyous holiday to Tamara's family.

"Gifts for the girls would mean so much. It's the basic essentials like clothes I hope to provide for them."

Thanks to our generous donors, that wish will come true.

If you would like to contribute, you can do so online here, or by calling (804) 591-3816.

We ask that you keep Tamara and her family in your prayers this Christmas Season.
