Community Care Ministries:
Community Care Ministries is designed to motivate, mobilize and train soldiers, adherents and other volunteers to effectively carry out Christ's commission to care to those in need. There are no limits to show compassionate, transformational care; it is simply people caring for one another in very practical ways.
This truly reflects God's love and shines God's light into the dark places and times of life. Together, let us commit ourselves to caring for our families, neighbors, neighborhoods, corps and cities.
The Community Care Ministries purpose is to encourage, equip and empower officers, soldiers, volunteers, youths and children to engage in loving acts of service that will transform lives, corps and communities. We will accomplish this through educational institutes, motivational dialogue and interaction, the provision of effective resources and personal example. Guidance, training and opportunity for practical help to others is given through the training modules of the Community Care Ministries' curriculum.
The Home League is just one of the programs of The Salvation Army that falls under the umbrella of Women's Ministries. It is a weekly program held in all Salvation Army Centers for Worship and is open to all women 16 years of age and older, regardless of race, color, or creed.
Weekly programs are creative and interactive and include worship programs that promote spiritual growth and development; educational programs that focus on issues of interest to women; fellowship programs that provide times of laughter and fun, and service programs that provide an opportunity to give time and/or material assistance to various community programs and worldwide missions.
One of the highlights of the year is a weekend long women's retreat held in the spring, which provide a time of relaxation, recreation, fellowship and spiritual retreat.
Women's Reach-Out meets monthly for a time of fellowship and Bible study.
All women 16 years of age and older are welcome to join us for our monthly meetings at the Golden Corral on Midlothian Turnpike as we fellowship together around the table. No membership is required for the Women's Reach-Out program.
The Women's Ministries of The Salvation Army is organized to win women to Christ, encourage spiritual growth, enhance Christian fellowship and promote the betterment of our women, our homes, our community, our nation and our world.
The Men's Fellowship Club was founded in 1946 with the primary emphasis on service. The program has a three-fold purpose: EVANGELISM (reaching men for Christ), FELLOWSHIP (sharing in worship, social life, education, and recreation), and SERVICE (providing the satisfaction of making a contribution to the work of the Kingdom).
The Salvation Army's women's and men's ministries meet weekly on Thursdays following a joint time of Bible study.
