You are in: The Salvation Army of Salisbury, MD
The Salisbury Salvation Army has been a viable charitable organization in the Salisbury area since November 1913. During the past eighty-nine years, the citizens of Wicomico, Worcester and Somerset counties have come to depend on the work of The Salvation Army to provide the spiritual, emotional and material needs to those who might otherwise be without. By following its own credo, "Heart to God, Hand to Man," the Army has ensured compassion can be found behind the Red Shield.
Annually, the Salisbury Salvation Army provides thousands of families with food, clothing and shoes, and rent and utility assistance. In addition to these services, the Christmas Assistance Program provides support during the cold winter months with holiday food baskets, hot meals, clothing and gifts. Over fifteen-hundred children receive new toys under their Christmas tree that might have otherwise been left out.
In addition to our vibrant youth and social service programs, we are also seeking to meet the needs of the communities' senior members through our Senior Center. Providing activities designed specifically for men and women aged 50 and above, this daily program focuses on ensuring active lifestyles. With different activities starting every hour and ranging from arts and crafts to line dancing, all levels of participation are available.
