The Salvation Army ...
Wishes For A Merry Christmas!
The Salvation Army wants YOU to experience the joy that comes from giving ...your time, your talents, your blessings... It's fun to give, and YOU can make Christmas 2010 extra-special for little girls and boys, forgotten seniors and homeless families in our area.
Here are some volunteer opportunities for YOU!
CANNED FOOD DRIVE VOLUNTEERS will fill Salvation Army Food Barrels at Caddo & Bossier Parish Schools and other area businesses. Or to host a food drive at your business, just call us.
ANGEL TREE VOLUNTEERS assist shoppers in choosing Angels, keep track of information, receive returned gifts with correct tags & numbers.
Age requirement: 14 years and older
Work Sites: Bossier & Shreveport Malls
Dates: November 11th - December 16th
HOST A CORPORATE ANGEL TREE and put an Angel Tree in the lobby of your office building. Your employees can also adopt an entire family/families for Christmas gift giving. Contact: 424-3200
CHRISTMAS TOY SHOP VOLUNTEERS become Santa's elves during Toy Shop set-up and distribution days. Set-up is in the entire moth of November and December and the Toy Shop becomes ready for distribution December 20 and 21! Great for groups!
STOCKING STUFFER VOLUNTEERS simply fill empty stockings for needy children.
YOU provide Christmas trinkets and special treats - books, small cars, combs and hair clips... we provide the stockings. Then just return the filled stockings to us. We'll see that children receive age and gender appropriate stockings on Christmas morning. 424-3200
YOUR civic club or company can adopt a SALVATION ARMY CHRISTMAS KETTLE for one day, one week - or the entire Christmas Season! The money raised is used throughout the year to buy food and clothing for needy families.
YOUR GROUP can be a VOLUNTEER BELL RINGER! Jingle your way into the hearts of area shoppers at various retailers around the area. This is lots of fun for families and groups!
Monetary donations are also welcome
